House. Circa early C17, refronted in C19 and extended in C20. Timber board
frame with square panels at rear infilled with painted brick; front faced in
painted brick, Flemish bond on right and stretcher bond on left. Thatched roof
with raised eaves at front, hipped on left and gabled right end with large brick
stack with brick shaft. Plan: 2-room plan, the left hand room a rebuilding or
extension, which includes a narrow 1-room plan wing at the back. Exterior: I
storey and attic. Asymmetrical 3-window front, the attic windows above wall
plate in raised eaves. C20 2-light casements with glazing bars. Doorway to
left of centre with C20 plank door and thatched porch. Sun fire insurance
plaque under eaves on front. The thatched roof is continued over large brick
stack on right end. At rear eyebrow eaves over 2 half dormers, C20 casements
and central doorway in chamfered frame with cranked head; small stone outshut on
left and C20 brick wing on right with half-hipped thatched roof and outshut on
inner left side. Interior: not inspected.
