Parish Church. C13 origin, enlarged C15 and restored C19. Walls a mixture of stone
and flint, plastered internally. Slate roofs - stone slates on porch.
Nave of three bays, chancel, north aisle, west tower, south porch. Nave and chancel
C13, porch C14, aisle and tower C15. Chancel part rebuilt c1400 and in C19.
Tower of three stages with stone and flint chequer pattern walling. Parapet with
buttreses and pinnacles. Square angle stair turret carried above main parapet
level. Most windows C15 - square-headed with ogee tracery. Good C13 south door
with cusped arch and carving in spandrils - carved heads as dripstones.
Internally, all roof timbers renewed in C19. Good C15 north arcade. C13 font, now
in north aisle. Early C16 carved oak pulpit and bench ends. Screen in aisle made
up from fragments of former medieval rood screen. Good C18 monument on north wall
of chancel.
