3 Acton Cottages

GV II

Terrace of 3 cottages. No. 2 probably C17 (RCHM). Nos. I and 3 late C18 -
early C19. Rubble stone walls, stone slate roofs, stone stacks on ridge.
No. 1 of 2 storeys, has porch with corrugated asbestos roof and ledged door.
Ground floor has one sash window with centre glazing bar. Blocked doorway
at left end. First floor has one sash window with centre glazing bar and one
casement window with glazing bars. No. 2 of one storey and attic, has single-
storey lean-to extension on front. Part-glazed door. Ground floor has one
casement window and one C20 window. Attic has one pent-roofed dormer with
casements. No. 3 has porch with ledged door, and one casement window. Ground
floor of main section has one casement window with horizontal glazing bars.
Attic has one pent-roofed dormer with casements. Attractive group. RCHM
Monument 29 (Dorset Vol. II).
