boundary walls on north and

GV II

House with attached single-storey range - this used as restaurant. Built 1842
as Chief Coastguard Officer's house. Main house has plastered walls, double-
pitch slate roof with battlemented parapets, plastered end stacks with
ornamental caps. Octagonal battlemented turrets at angles. 2 storeys, with
projecting single-storey addition at front. This has central part-glazed
door flanked by French doors. First floor of main house has 3 sash windows
with centre glazing bar. Single-storey restaurant range on left has 5 French
doors. Curved boundary wall on north, of brick, with battlements with stone
copings. Brick boundary wall on south-east, adjoining beach, with stone
coping and a series of rectangular openings - originally gun ports. A National
