creen).
GV II
House in terrace. Late C15, of open-hall form, altered by insertion of stacks and
first floor late C16 - early C17. Right end converted to forge in C19. Rubble stone
walls, stone slate roof, stone stack at left end and one near centre. One storey and
attic. C18 raised panel door into forge. Ground floor has 2 casements, one with
glazing bars, one with lead lights. Attic has 2 hipped dormers with glazing bars.
Internally, 2 raised cruck trusses survive, one with curved braces, and king-posts
above collars - smoke-blackened. 2 ground floor rooms have ceiling beams. Forge
retains original hearth. (RCHM, Monument 80. Dorset. Vol. II).
