Former school and school house, now converted to one house. c1870. Rough ashlar
stone walls with ashlar dressings. Tiled roof, with some fish-scale tiling.
Stone stacks on ridge. 2 storeys. In simple Gothic Revival style. Original
school house, on right, has gabled projection at right end. In this, one casement
with glazing bars on each floor; cross-shaped vent above the upper window. Left
of the gable, a ledged door with ornamental iron hinges in shouldered arched
opening. Ground floor has one casement with glazing bars. Similar casement on
first floor, under gabled dormer. Original schoolroom, at left end, has projecting
gable, containing a triple lancet window with hoodmoulds and foliated stops. Left
of this a gabled porch. This has a ledged door in pointed arched opening with
scroll over inscribed "In Memoriam". Wing left of this, parallel to main range,
with triple lancet window in end gable wall. Stone front boundary wall, with
chamfered square piers with stepped pyramidal caps. Simple iron railings.
