wall, 25 metres west
of The Castle

Lodge, glasshouse and garden wall. Probably early C19 with mid.C19 glasshouse.
Limestone ashlar with cast-iron glasshouse; lodge has Welsh slate roof. Gothick
style. Single-storey, 2- x 3-bay L-plan lodge with glasshouse in rear re-entrant
angle and wall attached to south. Lodge has canted oriel windows with stone
mullions, stepped buttresses and pinnacled parapet with pierced trefoils.
Glasshouse has quadrant roof, running from lodge parapet to ground, and closely-
spaced glazing bars. Low curtain wall, running south for about 45 metres, has
battlements and spaced buttresses. Included for group value. Partly derelict
at time of survey.
