Two slabs raised on piers.
1. 1721 to Jane Foster. Frosterley marble slab on sandstone piers. Wedge-
shaped slab with deeply-chamfered sides resting on two squat circular
piers. Inscription, across sides and top face, reads:
HERE LIETH YE BODY OF JANE THE WIFE OF HENRY FOSTER,
ALDERMAN OF DURHAM, WHO DIED JUNE ... 1721. AGED 49 YEARS.
2. 1807 to Henry Mills. Sandstone. Large horizontal slab with cyma-moulded
edges rests on two 1.0-metre high circular piers. Worn inscription.
