8/12 Barn adjoining rear
of left wing of
Littleburn Farmhouse

Barn. Probably late C17 with later alterations. Coursed rubble and pantiled
roof. Single-storey, 4-bay barn. Wall, facing yard, has Dutch door in large,
rebated doorway with alternating jambs and monolithic lintel with triangular
head cut into lower face. Interior has 3 principal-rafter trusses with pegged
collars. Reversed S-shaped wood winder stair leads to former bothy in rear
wing of farmhouse. Later single-storey addition to left of doorway not of
special interest. Included for group value.
