8/120 Gateway and railings to
east of Burn Hall.

GV II

Gate piers, gates and dwarf walls with railings, early C19. Rendered
sandstone piers with painted ashlar dressings; cast iron gates and
railings; sandstone walls with ashlar dressings.

4 square piers with plinths, coved pyramidal copings and later slender
urn finials, form vehicle and pedestrian entrances. Gates have sloping
tops, the highest part at central taller piers; heads to upper railings
which rest on scrolled panel; lower sections have overlapping hoops.

Snecked sandstone flanking walls support railings with scroll panel
and spear heads; low serpentine outer flanking walls, with chamfered coping,
support railings similar to gates; terminals are 4 principals grouped to
form a square with palmette finials.
