Ruins of medieval chapel built partly on foundations of Roman bath house.
Probably early C13 chapel on c.A.D. 260 wall. Coursed and squared rubble.
Partly-excavated Roman wall with thin stone lacing courses. Remains of chapel
in partly-rebuilt wall: fragmentary chamfered plinth and round-arched chamfered
doorway at right. Short, partly-rebuilt return wall to right has fragments of
chamfered plinth and small re-set round-arched monolithic window head at ground
level.
The Roman bath house is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
