Manor House ruins and wall attached to south. Possibly a C12 chapel, converted into
a house in early-mid C16 and later into a barn. Coursed and squared rubble.
One storey with ruinous upper storey. West gable end has alternating quoins.
Two 2-light, hollow-chamfered mullioned windows, blocked with hand-made bricks, on
ground floor. Hollow-chamfered south jamb of a former 2-light window in ruinous
gable. Roofless.
Blocked breather and C20 doorway on south wall. Partly-collapsed east opening and
later west doorway on north wall.
Almost complete east gable end has roughly-shaped, alternating quoins. Partly-
blocked doorway with later opening above. Gable has shaped footstones, moulded
copings and ruinous apex.
Interior. South wall: small, off-centre C16 stone fireplace with 4-centred arch;
fragmentary wall painting, consisting of scattered crescent shapes, above; small,
round-headed and deeply-splayed first-floor window to west.
Tall, c.l5-metre long wall: probably C16; off-centre boarded door in opening with
round-arched oak head; deeply-splayed window to south; remains of brick beehive oven
to north. Lean-to additions on rear are not of special interest.
Derelict and dangerous at time of survey.
