NZ 11 NE GAINFORD SELABY

6/130 Barn and pigsty,
20 metres east of
Selaby Home Farmhouse
GV II

Barn with pigsty attached to right return. Early C19. Limewashed hammer-
dressed sandstone; barn has Welsh slate roof, pigsty has pantiled roof.

2-storey, 3-bay barn with large flush quoins and low plinth. C20 vehicle
entrance in left bay and 2 blocked windows, with alternating jambs, to right;
3 part-glazed hit-and-miss windows above. Low-pitched hipped roof.

Single-storey pigsty with henhouse over. Gabled 2-bay return has 2 round-
headed openings in raised surrounds with voussoirs; 2 pig-yards in front have
low wall with chamfered coping and C20 cast-iron railings and gates; single
rectangular opening in gable. Rear has external stone staircase to boarded
door into henhouse.
