II* Bridge )
Road bridge over the River Tees. Circa 1800, repaired 1984. Snecked, dressed
sandstone. Both faces similar. Segmental arch, with set-back voussoirs and
projecting arch band, has 2 blind roundels in each spandrel. Parapet, defined
by band at road level, has segmental coping, rebuilt inner walls, and slightly-
splayed ends.

This bridge straddles the parishes of Holwick and Middleton-in-Teesdale.
