Description

LUNEDALE B6276,
NY 82 SE Grains o'th' Beck

8/113 Grains o'th' Beck
12/1/67 Bridge
GV II

Road bridge over Long Grain, a tributary of the River Lune. Probably late C18
with later repairs. Rubble with squared-boulder coping stones.

Both faces similar. 2 low segmental arches, with rough voussoirs alternately
flush and projecting, flank a later triangular-plan cutwater with sloping top.
Faces with scattered throughstones and later snecked-stone infill to ends.
Slightly-curved parapet with large coping stones laid alternately upright and
flat producing a slightly embattled effect.
