Road bridge across the River Greta. 1773; parapet rebuilt and end walls added in
C19. Sandstone ashlar; dressed sandstone C19 sections. Single-track, slightly
hump-backed bridge with end walls and end piers.

Identical faces. 25-metres span semi-circular arch with flush voissoirs. Flanking
flat-faced piers; north-east pier with battered abutment. Flat coped raking parapet.
with tooled and margined masonry. North end walls with cylindrical end piers.
Splayed wouth end walls: c.lO-metre long east wall with similar pier at mid point;
shorter west wall with similar end pier.

This bridge straddles the parishes of Bowes and Scargill.
