15/51 Wall and culvert
entrance to north
of Newby House

GV II

Wall and culvert entrance. C18 and C19. Squared stone with cut dressings;
culvert arch has white brick voussoirs. Wall with flat coping, gently sloping
down towards each end; vent with grating near centre opens into Newby House
cellars. Short detached wall in front, with chamfered coping, has blocked
round arch to culvert carrying stream which fed the pant (q.v.) on the village
green.
