House. Probably early C17, altered in C19. Rubble, colour-washed, with cut
dressings; stone slate roof with right end stack of white engineering brick.
2 storeys, 3 bays. Left-of-centre renewed door with tooled-and-margined
lintel; blocked 2-light mullioned window above. 4-pane Yorkshire sash windows
in flanking bays, with tooled-and-margined lintels (except for lower right
which has lintel of former 2-light mullioned window).

Interior: walls 0.9 metre thick. Transverse ceiling beams and part of an
early square-panelled partition with moulded studs and rails and a fluted
frieze.

Note; the '1561' painted on the door lintel has no foundation other than that
the owner considered the house 'about forty years older' than the adjacent
house to the east, which previously had an early C17 doorhead inscription.

C20 flat-roofed extension at rear is not of interest.
