GV II

Headstone to Christopher Parkin, died 1807, and members of his family from
1752 to 1820. Sandstone ashlar slab c. 1.6 metres high with shaped top. Small
pecked top panel has 2 low-relief winged cherubs. Long inscription includes
'In Commemoration and Affection/was Erected this Stone by Elizabeth Parkin/the
Disconsolate widow of the above Michael Parkin and Jane and Alice/his two
surviving daughters'. Rear inscribed 'ALLAH KERIM' and 'The Providence of GOD
is great', with commemoration of members of family.
