House, now ruin. Probably C16 with late C17 and late C18 additions and
alterations; last stage Gothic castle style. Sandstone rubble with ashlar
dressings. 2 storeys, 4 bays; round tower projects from second and square
tower from fourth bay. Tudor-arched surround to door in tower under large
sash window with glazing bars; blocked Maltese-cross arrow slit above;
embattled tower parapet. Single arrow slit at top of round tower below
corbelled embattled parapet. Wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills
to wide window openings on ground floor in first and third bays. Other
detail obscured by climbing trees. Interior shows late C16 segmental-arched
moulded fire surround in rear wall of left rear room.
