9/1/68 Oldacres Hall (previously
listed in Civil Parish
of Butterwick and Oldacres)

Former manor house. Late C17 with alterations. Pebble-dashed brick and rubble
walls;pantiled roofs with brick chimneys. Tall, square, double-pile plan with
2-span roof. Twin-gabled, 3-storey east front has 8-panel door and 8-pane
overlight to right (steps to door now removed). Scattered fenestration (with
glazing bars removed) includes central, mid-wall, round-arched stair window.
Gables have shaped kneelers; steeply-pitched roofs with central chimney in
valley. 3-storey,5-bay symmetrical south front has replaced 4-pane and some
original 12-pane sashes; cogged brick eaves band. Roof with some black-glazed
pantiles and west end chimney. Additions to west have collapsed. North front
of 3 storeys plus basement; scattered fenestration includes an 8-pane horizontal-
sliding sash below cogged brick eaves band; stone quoins on lower half of west
return. Interior has C18 dogleg staircase with turned balusters. Derelict at
time of survey.
