Shalter tomb circa 20 metres south-west of Church of St John the Evangelist

Headstone. Circa 1706 to Eleanor and Jane Shalter. Sandstone ashlar slab,
c.0.5 metre high, with shaped top. Each side has patterned edge, with paired
leaves below 2 top paterae. Beaded pendant from centre of leaves divides
surface into 2, inscribed

Reverse has similar border and paired leaves over skull, heart and crossed
bones, the heart at centre and flanked by hourglasses; paterae above and below
hourglasses.
