3 houses, now one house and a public House. Datestone 1725 over second-bay
door. No. 43 at left originally 2 houses. Roughly-coursed squared sandstone
with ashlar dressings and quoins; roof plain tiles. L-plan. 2 storeys, 5
windows. Flat stone lintel over renewed door in first bay; blocked door in
third bay. Double boarded doors under wedge stone lintel; to The Green Tree
in third of 4 right bays. No. 43 has flat stone lintels over inserted double
doors in second bay, and 12-pane sashes to right of first bay; 2 similar
first-floor windows. The Green Tree has wedge stone lintels with vertical
tooling over windows flanking door, and pecked stone lintel of similar shape
over window in first bay-on ground floor; all first-floor windows have flat
stone lintels. All windows renewed 12-pane sashes with projecting stone
sills. Roof has 4 ridge chimneys. Lower rear wing on left return blank
except for small 4-pane window. Front wing breaking forward at right,
originally separate houses and now part of The Green Tree, not of special
interest.
