A late C16 timber-framed house with later additions and altered in the
C18. Weatherboarded. 2 storeys. 2 window range, double_hung sashes
with glazing bars, 3-light windows on the lst storey. The ground storey
has 2 C20 bow windows in C18 style with glazing bars, and a C20 shop front
at the south end. Roof tiled, with a moulded wood eaves cornice. The
interior has a beam inscribed with the date 1577 (RCHM 17).

Nos 38 to 42 (even). Church of St Mary Magdalen. No 46 and Nos 57 to 63
(odd) with Nos 1 to 13 (odd) Chapel Street form a group.
