The grade shall be amended to read II* and the description as follows:
House. Early C14 and early C16, timber framed with frame exposed
externally and some weatherboarding on north side. Red plain tile
roof. 2 storeys. L shaped plan, with early C14 crosswing at north,
jettied and hipped with gablet to the east. This wing extending
west by 3 bays of early C16. Main range is also early C16, of 2
storeys with long wall jetty, and with 2 storied jettied and gabled
porch at south west corner. 1:2 window range C19 vertical sliding
sashes and casements. Small C19 single storey canted bay with flat
roof to centre front. C16 red brick chimney on north wall, with 2
octagonal shafts, (partly collapsed at top). C19 red brick chimney
stack on north wall and C16 central red brick chimney partly rebuilt
at top. C16 frame is close studded with curved wall bracing and
cambered tie beam. Internally most of the original framing survives
with stop chamfered bridging and common floor joints, jointed storey
posts and a number of original door and window openings. Some C16
and C17 doors. North wing has C16 simple crown post roof extending
over earlier range. Main range has C16 crown post roof, extensively
altered in C17. Arch bracing to principal tie beams. Central chimney
stack has original inglenook fireplaces with mantel beam and 2 plastered
recesses above. C16 north chimney stack has original fireplaces with 4
centred brick arches, and moulded and stopped reveals. Upper storey has
3 rooms with late C16 wall paintings comprising large rectangular panels
with complex motifs in red, green and black.

A C16 timber-framed house with a cross wing on the north end and exposed timber-framing.
Originally T-shaped on plan. 2 storeys. The upper storey is jettied on the
front and on the east side of the cross wing. On the west side there is a 2
storey porch with a jettied upper storey. Roofs tiled, with an original chimney
stack on the ninth side, with 2 octagonal shafts (partly collapsed). There
are C16-C17 wall paintings on the lst storey interior. (RCHN 4).
