A timber-framed and plastered house of C15 origin with central hall and cross
wings, altered in the Cl7 and the south-east cross wing was rebuilt. In the
early C19 the original building was faced in grey brick. The centre part has
a wood fascia and a brick dentil course. 2 storeys 3 window range, double-hung
sashes with glazing bars, in plain reveals,sour are 3-light. There is a semi-circular
headed doorway with fanlight with radial glazing bars and a modern casement window
above it. Roof tiled, with a Cl7 chimney stack with 3 diagonally set shafts at
the east end. (RCHM 3 Gt Leighs).
