1. GREAT AND LITTLE WAKERINGS FARM ROAD

A C15, Cl6 and C17 timber-framed and plastered house built on L-shaped plan.
With wings extending to the north-east and south-east. The south-west end of
the north-east wing is C15 with a C16 extension and the south-east wing is C17
but was refronted on the south-west side in the early C19 when it was faced in
brick with a low parapet with a moulded string course. 2 storeys. 3 window range,
double-bung sashes with glazing bars, in plain reveals, with stuccoed lintels
and square hood moulds and ornamented label stops. A bold stuccoed moulded band
runs between the head of the ground storey windows and the sills of the lst storey
windows. there is a C20 gabled brick porch. The interior has a bressumer beam
of the upper storey which formerly was jettied. Roofs tiled. (RCHM 7 Gt Leighs).
