A moated timber-framed manor house built circa 1600. Part of the moat remains
on the south-west side of the brick garden wall. The house has been considerably
restored and all the timber-framing exposed on the front. The upper storey is
jettied on the whole front and there are 4 jettied gables. Some of the bressumers
are carved and moulded. 2 storeys and attics. The windows are C20 casements with
leaded lights. On the ground storey thereis some modern brick nogging. At the
rear there are 5 gables. Roof tiled, with red brick chimney stacks with flat
pilasters. On the front some of the gables have modern attic windows. (RCHM6).
