A timber-framed and plastered building of C15 origin but much altered and added to in the C19. Renovated and altered in the C20. The wing to the east is mid C19, red and black brick. Two storeys. Three window range, double-bung sashes with glazing barn, in plain reveals. The ground storey windows are three-light. Roof slate. The original block is two storeys, gabled on the south and west fronts. The north side is gabled and jettied on the upper storey. The windows are C20 casements. Two doorways have gabled hoods. Roof tiled. A two-storeyed C19 block with a slate roof extends on the west side. (RCHM 12).

All the listed buildings in The Village form a group (Dweina and No 1, Elm Cot and
Lime Tree Cottage and Almshouses are buildings of local interest).
