On the west side of the house the moat is crossed by a modern bridge and has brick walls, some of them, particulavly on the inner face, are of early Cl6 brick, with black brick diapering. The north-west and south-west angles have octagonal corner turrets with moulded brick bases and crocketted brick
pinnacles above moulded brick cornices. The outer faces have loop openings.
