Including house at rear on Malden Road.
A C16 timber-framed and plastered building built on an L shaped plan.
A 2nd wing extending to the south east was added in the C18, connecting
with a small C18 house at the south-east end. The building has been almost
completely altered on the north-west front in the C18 and C19. The upper
storey has applied timber framing with arcading (as in Nos 9 to 13 odd)
and the ground storey is now of painted brick. 2 storeys. 5 window range,
3-light double- hung sashes with glazing bars. A segmental arched carriage
entrance on the north west front has been mmde into an entrance doorway.
Roof slate. The interior has some original timber-framing, wall posts
and moulded brackets etc. At the south-east end there is a C18 house,
now part of the hotel. Blue brick and red brick dressings. 2 storeys.
4 window range, double hung sashes with glazing bars, in cased frames.
A raised brick band runs between the storeys. External chimney stacks
project at each end. At the rear there is a timber framed and plastered
(part weatherboarded) wing. Roof tiled, double-pitched. RCHM (28).
