A late C18 or early C19 front probably to a C15 timber-framed and plastered
building. 3 storeys. 4 window range, double-hung sashes, No 3 has glazing
bars, in flush cased frames with moulded architraves and cornices to 1st
storey windows. No 9 has vertical glazing bars, in flush cased frames with
moulded architraves and dentilled cornices on console brackets. A central
covered passage way with an 8-panel door has an original moulded ceiling
beam. The ground storey has C20 shops. Roofs slate. RCHM (36).

Nos 1, 3, 9 and 11 form a group with Nos 2 to 8 (even) Rayne Road and
White Hart Hotel and No 2 Bocking End, Bocking.
