House. Early C15 with later and C17 additions and alterations. Timber framed
and plastered. Hipped red plain tiled crosswing of 2 storeys with hipped 1
storey and attic range to left. This range with a gabled dormer and lean-to
red tiled extension. One window range to crosswing. The crosswing is double
jettied with 4 brackets to each side (the right bullnosed beam jetty is exposed
internally) and has a central attached shaft red brick chimney stack. Internal
features include circa 1500 inglenook fireplace with salt alcoves and bread
oven arches. Cambered wooden mantel beam. Brick floors. Foliate chamfer stops
to bridging joist. Mullion window. 1683 date on internal plaster to later
range. Fine early staircase from elsewhere. Cambered floor. Unusual tenons to
floor joists. Roof originally crown post construction.
