TL 83 SW GESTINGTHORPE OFF COCK ROAD

House C15 or earlier. Timber framed and panel parget plastered. Red plain
tiled roofs. Central red brick octagonal shaft chimney stack and exterior red
brick stack with 3 octagonal shafts to right. H-plan with gabled crosswing
and a double range jettied wing to left. 2 storeys and attics. Gabled dormer
to central hall and oval windows to each gable. 1:1:1 window range to first
floor, 2:2:1 window range to ground floor of various small paned casements and
C18 small paned vertical sliding sashes, including C17 2 light window to hall.
Gabled dormer to right crosswing return. Off centre 4 panel door with moulded
pilasters, moulded frieze and double brackets to flat canopy. Much exposed
timber internally and original brick fireplaces. Said to contain original
screens doorways. RCHM 11
