2/11 Parkgate Farmhouse
21.6.62 II
House. C15 or earlier with later additions and alterations. Timber framed and
plastered with panel pargetting. Red plain tiled roof with two central gabled
dormers. 2 storeys. 1:2:1 window range of C19 vertical sliding sashes, the
upper windows with pentice boards over, the lower windows with drip hoods. 3
steps lead to central four panel door with moulded surround, flat canopy and
brackets. 3 red brick chimney stacks. Central hall with gabled crosswings
to right and left. Jetty to right crosswing, left jetty underbuilt. Hall roof
reputed to be original crown post structure with heavy sooting, crosswings
similar. Floor inserted C16 or C17. RCHM 12.
