TL 83 SW LITTLE MAPLESTEAD GESTINGTHORPE ROAD
4/147 Hurrells Farmhouse

GV II

House. C16 or earlier with late C18 wing to south. Timber framed and
plastered. Grey slate roofs. 2 storeys to south range. 1 storey and attic
to north range. 2 red brick chimney stacks. Projecting eaves to C18 range and
3 window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes with moulded surrounds.
Central 2 panel door with 2 lights. Pilasters with capitals. Open pediment.
North range with one catslide dormer and a small paned sliding sash window.
Attached to rear is a bake oven. North range frame of 2 bays with heavy
chamfered tie beam and bridging joist. Good quality close studding. C18 detail
includes doors with ironmongery and hall archway. Documentary evidence relates
to circa 1486.
