House, c.1500, altered in C17, C19 and C20. Timber framed, partly plastered,
partly with exposed framing, roofing with handmade red clay tiles. 2-bay main
range aligned approx. N-S with chimney stack in N bay. 2 crosswings, forming
a half-H plan. 2 internal chimney stacks in N crosswing, one external chimney
stack to S of S crosswing. Lean-to stair tower in NW angle. Small lean-to
extension to S. Aspect E. 2 storeys. C20 door in tiled gabled porch, 3 C20
casement windows on ground floor and 4 on first floor, mostly with C20 labels.
Exposed framing on main range, exposed jetty on S crosswing with billet-carved
bressumer. C20 pierced bargeboards on both gables. The interior has moulded
beams and joists, some exposed studding with curved bracing trenched inside,
original stair door with 4-centred doorhead. RCHM 16.
