House, c.1500, altered in C17, C19 and C20, now a public house. Timber framed,
plastered with exposed framing (some imitation), roofed with handmade red clay
tiles. 3-bay main range aligned NW-SE, aspect NE, with internal chimney stack
at SE end, and 2 crosswings, the NW wing having an internal chimney stack. C19
extensions to rear. C20 single-storey flat-roofed extensions to NW and SE. 2
storeys. The main range and the NW crosswing are jettied. C20 door, 3 late C19
splayed bays of double-hung sash windows of 4 lights. First floor, 5 C20
casement windows. The chimney stack in the main range has 4 octagonal shafts
with moulded bases. The chimney stack in the NW wing has 3 octagonal shafts
with plain bases. The interior has jowled posts, chamfered beams with step
stops, exposed plain joists of horizontal section. RCHM 17.
