3/25 Barn approx. 20 metres
NW of Le Hurst Farmhouse

GV II

Barn, c.1600, extended in C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with
corrugated iron. 8 bays aligned NE-SW with 2 midstreys to SE. The 3 bays at
the NE end are the earliest, and the next 3 bays were added soon afterwards.
These 6 bays have jowled posts, heavy studding with arched bracing, and clasped
purlin roof with arched wind-bracing. 2 more bays were added to the SW in the
C18/19, with unjowled posts, primary straight bracing, and roof without wind
bracing.
