Cottage. C16 or earlier. Timber framed and plastered. Red pantiled roof.
Red brick chimney stacks to right, left and centre. Hall with crosswing to
right and C20 crosswing extension to left. 1 storey and attics. Central flat
headed dormer. 1:1:1 window range of C20 casements. C20 glazed door to left
and red pantiled porch to right with vertically boarded door. Large bridging
and floor joists internally. Documentary evidence of property owned in Castle
Hedingham by the Leffingwell Family of Earls Colne circa 1468. RCHM 46.
