Cottage. Late C17. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade red clay
tiles. 2 bays at right angles to road, with near-central chimney stack. Lean-
to porch on right side, C20 lean-to extension on left side, with C20 single-
storey wing beyond. One storey with attics. One-window range of C20 casements
with diamond leading, one more in lean-to extension, plain boarded door at front
of porch. Old plaster with sawtooth indentations. The interior has chamfered
axial beams with lamb's tongue stops (sand-blasted in the front room), exposed
framing, one panel of original wattle exposed in the left wall, original hearth
with apertures for bread oven (removed), original newel stair beside stack, some
wide rebated floorboards on upper floor. An unusually unaltered example of its
type.
