Pair of cottages of different size, now combined. C16. Timber framed,
plastered, roof thatched. One 2-bay cottage of one storey and attics, facing N,
with stack on left return wall, extended to left with small cottage of 2 bays
and one storey. C20 single-storey rear extension from the latter. 4
horizontally sliding sashes of 12,12,24 and 8 lights rspectively. One C20
casement in eyebrow dormer. Plain boarded door. A beam projects through the
front and rear walls of the larger cottage, mortised and wedged externally. In
right return wall an arched collar is exposed. The interior has jowled posts,
curved braces trenched inside heavy studding, chamfered axial beams, plain
joists of horizontal section, original floor boards, and almost a full set of
early boarded internal doors. RCHM 8.
