TL 72 NW RAYNE SHALFORD ROAD

2/161 Pudneys Farmhouse

House. C16/C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed and
plastered. Red plain tiled roofs. Central red brick chimney to gabled
crosswing, external chimney stack to left range. 2 storeys. 3 window range of
mainly C19 three light vertically sliding sashes with a small paned vertically
sliding sash to first floor centre. Central gabled grey slate porch. Glazed
margins to top light of door. Interior features include, restored inglenook
fireplace with mantel beam, probably back to back, rear now infilled with C20
surround. Two C16 chamfered brick fireplaces with 4 centred heads to first
floor. Jowled storey posts to crosswing. Stop chamfered bridging joists.
Exposed wall studding to some rooms. Original ledged door. RCHM 20.
