House. C16 and C17, extended in C19. Timber framed, plastered and partly of
painted brick, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Main range facing E, with
axial stack, of which the right part is C17, the left part a C19 extension.
Single-storey lean-to extension along full length of rear, C19. 2 storeys with
attics. Wing extending forward at right end, of painted brick, with external
stack in the angle. One storey with attics. 3-window range of C20 casements.
6-panel door with top panels glazed, in C19 gabled porch. 4-panel door with
upper panels glazed. One feature gable in main range, with C20 casement.
Grouped diagonal shafts on both stacks. The interior has jowled posts,
chamfered axial and transverse beams (some boxed in), some exposed joists of
horizontal section, clasped purlin roofs. The earliest features are in the rear
end of the N wing. RCHM 51.
