3/67 Pilgrim Cottage

GV II

Pair of cottages, now combined. C17 and later. Timber framed, plastered,
thatched. 4 bays facing NW with axial stack. C20 extension to rear of right
end. One storey with attics. 4 C20 casements, and 2 more in eyebrow dormers.
C20 tiled gabled porch with door at front. Roof half-hipped at both ends. The
interior has a large wood-burning hearth facing to right, C17, and in the same
bay a chamfered axial beam with lamb' 5 tongue stops with exposed joists of
vertical section. This is the C17 core which was extended in both directions in
the early C19 to form 2 cottages, later combined. Listed for Group Value.
