4/74 Sculpin's Farmhouse


House. Early C17, altered in C20. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with hand-
made red clay tiles. 4 bays facing SE, with axial stack in second bay from left
end, forming a lobby-entrance. Single storey lean-to extension at rear. One
storey with attics. 3 C20 casements, and one more in half-dormer. Tiled gabled
porch. Stack rendered. Chamfered transverse and axial beams with lamb's tongue
stops. Original moulded 3-plank door at foot of stairs. The house has been
reduced in size since the RCHM report, 7. Moated site.
