TL 73 SW FINCHINGFIELD TOPPESFIELD ROAD
4/93 Barn approx. 60 metres
Barn. C16, extended in C17. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with
corrugated asbestos. 4 bays aligned N-S, with 2 aisles, and midstrey to W of S
bay. 3 bays added to S in C17, the aisle continuing at the rear for one bay
only, and no aisle at the front. Jowled posts in both parts. In the earlier
part, heavy studding with curved braces trenched to the inside, arched braces to
arcade plates and tiebeams. In the S part, primary straight bracing in walls,
arched braces to tiebeams. Both roofs rebuilt to a lower pitch for corrugated
