GV II

House. Early C19. Red brick in Flemish bond, roofed with handmade red clay
tiles. Main range with central entrance/stair hall facing S, and internal
stacks at both ends. Rear range with internal stack at end, forming a T-plan,
and second service in NW angle, with internal stack at end, and external bread
oven beyond. 2 storeys and attics. Ground floor, 4 early C19 sashes of 12
lights with some crown glass, in recessed semi-circular arches. First floor, 5
early C19 sashes of 6 lights. Central 6-panel door with fanlight having radial
tracery in recessed semi-circular arch. Moulded eaves course. In the right
roof pitch of the central service wing there are 2 early C19 2-light windows in
gabled dormers, with original leaded rectangular lights, casements missing.
Original stair with wreathed handrail and stick balusters. The main ground
floor rooms have original folding shutters, C20 grates, and the right room has 2
recessed semi-circular cupboards, one each side of the fireplace. Between the 2
rear wings is a blocked window, and a high dairy window with narrow diamond
mullions.
