GV II

Range of cottages, now 2, formerly more. C17, altered in C20. Timber framed,
plastered and weatherboarded, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 4-bay range
facing SE with central stack, and 3-bay range facing NE, with C18/C19 internal
stack at the junction, forming an L-plan. One storey with attics. No. 1
(facing SE), 4 C20 casements, 3 more in gabled dormers, and C20 door in gabled
porch. No. 2 (facing NE), 3-window range of C20 casements, C20 door in
trellised porch. 4 octagonal shafts on each stack. Chamfered beams with lamb's
tongue stops. At the junction between the 2 ranges a beam is supported by an
unusual Y-shaped post with elaborately profiled head, possibly introduced.
Clasped purlin roofs.
