8/139 Owl's Hill Cottage

GV II

Cottage. C17, altered in C19. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade
red clay tiles. 3 bays facing SE with central stack forming a lobby-entrance.
Internal stack at right end. C19 extension to rear right. One storey with
attics. 2 C19 casements, and 2 more in swept dormers. Central C20 door.
Gambrel roof. 2 tusk-tenoned beams project through the front wall, and one is
visible externally at the rear, also tusk-tenoned. Internally these beams are
chamfered with lamb's tongue stops. Plain joists of vertical section. RCHM
16.
